As you may have noticed there’s been a bit of a change on the website recently, this is because I was recently reminded that if you want to be known for something more then you need to make that happen. It hasn’t been a case of focusing on the wrong thing in photography but more of not focusing on anything direct at all, this needed to change. In this case that meant giving everything a bit of a darker make over while also showing other things I enjoy that aren’t necessarily dark in subject, ie. Documentary photography. After much digging and plotting I’m going back to my roots in order to show you all the sort of artwork I want to show and sell. Some people may like it and others may not but that is up to them, either way from now on I’ll be advertising my darker work, whether they’re prints or creative portraits. I hope you guys enjoy the content and to remember if you’re feeling a little lost, just take some time and think about the reason you decided to do what you do.
This October has been the first time in a while I’ve really gotten back into dark photography; so as photographers and as friends, the three of us teamed up to create a story each that involved the other two people. This is a great exercise to do with friends because it really gets your creativity flowing again, you get to encourage each other and feed of each other’s ideas. It’s really brought back my love of creating macabre shoots again and if you’re ever feeling creatively blocked, ask or rope your friends into doing an exercise like this and you’ll be back to your artistic self in no time. I’ve just got to keep that feeling going now it’s back, so here at SE Photos, we invite you all to come with us on this journey into the darker side of art. We’re open to collaboration or commissions as well as prints for sale and we hope you enjoy this journey with us we progress further.
I wish you all wonderful creativity and a happy All Hallow’s Eve/Samhain and stay safe
